Mobile Market: Nokia market share bounces back - Samsung number 2
We said it before and again and again and Samsung repeated it (well, may be not in this sequence) – Samsung will rock the boat in the global mobile phone industry by becoming more aggressive.
They have the plan to beat Nokia in the marketplace but for now, they managed to overtake Motorola – Gartner just reported that Motorola's market share fell from 15.7% to 13.4% in the second quarter, enabling Samsung to clinch the number two position with a 13.8% market share. The US icon in the mobile phone industry is a struggling giant, who is trying to come back, but somewhat doesn’t get up to the challenge as of now. A furthe drop is definitely not could for the moral of a company.
Well, Nokia, on the other hand is back. We actually said that they struggled but were trying hard to get back and now succeeded. Nokia's global market share hit 30.9% in the recent quarter, taking it closer to its 35.8% all-time high reached in 2002 and way above its recent low of 28.9 per cent in the first quarter. So it is a giant who can reinvent themselves. Great.
